1. When can I start?
Spark Hairdressing Academy has flexible intake which allows you to start any week of the year (except public/Christmas holidays). Students are at different progression points therefore our flexible class structure ensures you won’t miss out on any course content.
2. When do I have to attend the course?
Our Fast Track program runs 4 days a week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Classes run from 9am – 4:30pm with a morning tea (15 minutes) and a lunch break (45 minutes).
Once you start working in a salon, you can negotiate your attendance.
3. Which course do you recommend for a beginner in hairdressing?
Most students choose to do our course package:
Certificate III in Hairdressing and Diploma in Hairdressing Salon Management
This package provides a qualification for a successful hairdressing career as well as management and business skills for running or even owning a salon.
This course package also expands your career pathways, which means you’re not limited to hairdressing.

1. Do you accept any alternative testing to IELTS?
Yes, we also accept other methods of testing (TOEFL) with an equivalent score to IELTS Academic 5.5. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) can be completed online or at test centers. For admission, you must achieve TOEFL Internet Test score of 197 or Paper Test score of 525.

2. Do you need IELTS testing if English is my first language?
No, as long as you provide evidence that you have studied English for at least 5 years in the following countries:
- Australia
- New Zealand
- United Kingdom
- Canada
- United States of America
- South Africa
- The Republic of Ireland

Direct Credit Transfer / Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

1. Do you provide credit transfer if I have previously completed units?
Yes, if you show your Statement of Attainment we can provide credit towards your course. We will adjust your course fees and duration according to what you have completed.
2. Can I use my hairdressing toolkit from my previous course?
Yes, we can adjust your course fees to not include a toolkit. Required Tools
If there are items that you don’t have, you are required to purchase them from the Academy.
3. How do I transfer from another course?
After you complete our application form, we will issue you a letter of offer. You must show this to your current training provider who will issue a letter of release. We will require copies of this.
If you want to obtain credit from studying a similar course, provide us with your Statement of Attainment and we will adjust your course fees and duration. return to top
