Start your Career at school!

Did you know you can complete your high school certificate, gain an OP and begin your hairdressing career at the same time? You do not need an employer to take you through a school based traineeship…all you need is, Spark Hairdressing Academy, Australia’s most respected and innovative Hairdressing Academy!

What will I learn?

In this highly practical program, you will learn about salon etiquette, teamwork, workplace health and safety, how to meet, greet and prepare clients for salon services, as well as shampooing and basin work.

You will also learn how to consult with and educate clients in hair matters, how to recommend hairdressing products and services and finally, how to interact in a live salon environment...

Knowledge and skills gained in this qualification will also provide you with credits towards your Certificate III in Hairdressing qualification, and will reduce the time frame and cost of an apprenticeship or further Fast Track training. As you can see, the Spark VET program is a fantastic stepping stone towards creating an outstanding and fulfilling hairdressing career.


Where do I start?

Let the Vocational Education Coordinator at your school and your parents or guardians know that you would love the opportunity to alter your current school timetable to begin Certificate II in Hairdressing as part of your school studies. If this is not possible, you can complete this qualification via correspondence or during school holiday periods. You must be a minimum of 15 years or older to undertake Certificate level qualifications.
