A brief guide to Certificate III in Hairdressing
Certificate III in Hairdressing incorporates everything you will need to become a confident and competent hairdresser. On completion of Certificate III in Hairdressing, you will be qualified as a hairdresser with a variety of full or part time employment options available to you.
While enrolled in this qualification you may wish to accept casual or part time paid employment outside of course hours. This means that the colour, cutting and styling skills you gain at the Academy will be continually reinforced with real industry experience.
You may also get the opportunity to work in a variety of Brisbane’s top city salons; experiencing first hand what it means to work within the atmosphere of a world class hairdressing salon. Within our own commercial salon, you will be mentored by qualified stylists and instructors as you perform a range of salon services for real salon clients.
Course Details:
Entry requirements:
Minimum successful completion of Queensland school year 8 or equivalent.
Course Dates:
Continuous enrolment with monthly intake at the end of each month.
Recognition of Prior Learning:
Skills gained via work or life experience are recognized and may reduce the duration and fees.
Study options:
Fast Track:
52 week program. 49 weeks study of 20 hours per week minimum. This course also includes a requirement for 240 hours of vocational placement (12 weeks @ 20 hours per week).
Apprentice:
3 year program. Earn while you study. Full or part-time employment including academy attendance arranged between you and your employer. May attend for day release or by block.
School-based trainee:
Earn while you study. One day per week industry employment plus academy attendance arranged between you, your school and your employer.
