Cutting

Cutting is the most important aspect of hairdressing. Hair cutting and styling is a combination of creativity, visualization, design and individualism. Your scissors are the one tool you can use to completely change a persons image. At SPARK Hairdressing, we teach you the fundamentals of cutting which you can then practice and develop your skills in our professional salon.

Upstyling

Upstyling is one of the most creative areas of hairdressing. It incorporates various techniques and designs such as; braiding, curling & setting.
Throughout your SPARK Hairdressing experience you will have many opportunities to show off your upstyling skills in various fashion events including our annual Queen St Mall fashion & hair show.

Colouring

Using colour is one of the most exciting and often most difficult aspects of hairdressing. The increasing demands and “must haves” of clients means that colouring is now more technically demanding than ever before.
At SPARK Hairdressing, our teachers are trained in the latest techniques which is then delivered straight to you.

Straightening

Chemical Relaxation or “straightening” as it is more commonly known, has been around since the 1800’s. Straightening uses fairly strong chemicals that are applied directly to the to the hair. This changes the basic structure of the hair from curly to straight permanently. At SPARK Hairdressing you will learn the many different techniques used to straighten hair.
